With 30 years of experience with the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service, Mr Bruce Zanin arrived in Brussels in July 2018 after four years of service in China. He began his career in 1987 as an agricultural economist, leading to postings in Washington DC, Belgrade, Vienna, Abidjan, Mexico City and Beijing.
He served as food security advisor to U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart (2010-2013) and as associate director of Peace Corps Albania (1995-1997), having himself been a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala during his early career.
Bruce graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Master’s degree in International Agricultural Development & Agricultural Economics in 1985. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and from the University of California, Riverside.
