On the 8th of October 2019, the report on “Genome Editing in Agriculture – Implications for Society” was presented at the European Parliament by Commissioner Carlos Moedas.

During the second edition of the Brussels Science in Society Salon, hosted by MEP Maria da Graça Carvalho, the report was presented to key representatives from the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament, Academia, Industry, NGOS and other Stakeholders.

The aim of this report is to give an overview of the discussions on the challenges and opportunities of New Breeding Technologies and to analyse the need and impact of hosting a Brussels Science-in-Society Salon.

The report “Genome editing in agriculture – Implications for society” was prepared by Re-Imagine Europa in close collaboration with the European Commission’s Scientific Advisor Mechanism (SAM) and a full version is now publicly avaialble to download:
