Ms Daria Tataj, CEO of Tataj innovation and member of Re-Imagine Europa’s advisory board, has joined the Expert group on the economic and societal impact of research and innovation (ESIR), a high-level expert group that provides evidence-based policy advice to the European Commission on how to develop a forward-looking and transformative research and innovation policy.
Businesswoman and entrepreneur, Dr Tataj developed her career as an investment banker and venture capitalist before joining the founding Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in 2008. Dr Tataj has already worked with the European Commission, as chair the group of High-Level Advisors to Carlos Moedas, former EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation (2015-2019).
ESIR is considered a very relevant element in the plan of President Ursula von der Leyen to drive Europe’s transition to full sustainability, in the effort to maintain her commitment to transform Europe into a climate neutral continent by 2050. The group, chaired by Ms Sandrine Dixson-Declève, currently includes sixteen experts who cover sustainability issues from a variety of angles while emphasising stakeholder engagement and co-designing of outputs and activities.
